About Us
As an Aveda Concept Salon, our team combines ongoing education, technical expertise and a relationship-driven approach to hair, makeup, waxing and bridal services.
More Than Just a Salon Visit
Jeffrey Richard Salon was built around the belief that great salon experiences start with how people are treated.
We know that sometimes a salon visit is about more than hair. That’s why we focus not only on the result itself, but on creating an environment where people feel relaxed and confident throughout the process.

What to Expect
A salon experience designed to help you feel comfortable, cared for and at ease from the moment you walk in.
Our Values
Transformative Experiences
The best transformations don’t feel forced or overdone. Whether the change is subtle or significant, our goal is always the same: helping clients feel more like themselves when they leave than when they arrived.
Caring Interactions
How someone is treated matters just as much as the service itself. We approach every appointment with attentiveness, consistency and respect for the trust clients place in us.
Technical Expertise
As an Aveda Concept Salon, our team is committed to ongoing education and continued growth. With a commitment to training, collaboration and shared standards across the salon, we create an experience clients can feel confident in from start to finish.
Care Beyond the Chair
Supporting our community is part of how we care for people. Through local partnerships, donation drives and annual fundraising efforts, our team is committed to giving back to the Grand Rapids community we’re proud to be part of.

Meet Our Founder, Jeffrey Richard
Jeffrey Richard Salon was founded in 2000 by Jeffrey Richard Cipcic with a vision for something more than just a place to get your hair done. From the very beginning, Jeffrey built the salon around strong technical artistry, a thoughtful guest experience and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for everyone who walked through the door. As one of the few Aveda Concept Salons in the area at the time, Jeffrey Richard Salon quickly became known not only for the quality of its work, but for the care and high standards behind it.
That foundation still shapes the salon today. Jeffrey’s leadership, mentorship and work ethic helped build a culture centered around kindness and genuinely caring for people. Many of the relationships formed in those early Fulton Street days, including longtime clients and team members, remain part of the salon more than two decades later, carrying forward the same commitment to thoughtful service and meaningful connection that Jeffrey established from the start.

Meet Our Team
Our team combines technical expertise with a thoughtful, relationship driven approach to care. No matter who you sit with, you can expect an experience that feels personal, collaborative and never rushed.
FAQ
Several public parking areas are available near the salon. Uptown parking is managed through the City of Grand Rapids “pay by plate” system using the MOTU app or nearby kiosks. We recommend allowing a few extra minutes to get settled, especially for your first visit.
Jeffrey Richard Salon is proud to be a Green Circle Certified Salon, which means we participate in a sustainability program designed to reduce waste within the beauty industry. Through this program, materials like hair clippings, excess color, foils and other salon waste are collected and repurposed instead of ending up in landfills or waterways.
To support this effort, a $2 eco fee is added to each service ticket, helping us responsibly process and recycle up to 95% of our salon waste.
Come as you are. If you have inspiration photos or questions, feel free to bring them along, but you don’t need to have every detail figured out before arriving.

It depends on the service and the look you’re maintaining. During your appointment, your stylist can recommend a timeline based on your hair goals and routine.
Some services, especially corrective color or larger transformations, may require a consultation first. If you’re unsure what to book, we’re happy to guide you in the right direction.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before booking. During your consultation, our team will walk through your goals, routine and what’s realistic for your hair type before recommending the best approach.
